The Cannon Art Gallery’s seventh Invitational exhibition will feature the work of five artists - selected by Curator Karen McGuire from the 2015 Juried Biennial. The Invitational exhibition alternates every other year with the Juried Biennial to showcase and present in greater depth the work of San Diego County artists. Featured artists are Dan Adams, David Hewitt, Michelle Montjoy, Leslie Nemour and Peggy Wiedemann.

Food For Thought explores the use of food as both conceptual and formal tool in contemporary art. The works in this group exhibition explore how artists take the historical tradition of still life painting into new realms by using food as primary subject matter. West Coast Drawing, founded in 2003, celebrates a group of artists on the California coast who work in drawing media and highlights the importance of drawing: its diversity, its technical challenges, and its standard-bearing excellence in the arts. Group members offer each other mutual inspiration while engaging in a vigorous dialogue on the evolving nature of drawing. This group exhibition showcases the many ways contemporary artists continue to explore the drawing medium.
